About Us
Black Love United is a community, a group of couples that help inspire other couples to have healthy marriages and families. While we say black love is not limited to African Americans only. Black marriages are disproportionately affected by divorce resulting in single families, dysfunctional households and teen pregnancy, so we strive to be a source and network for married couples. We believe that marriage is God's union and we want to encourage its continued growth.
There is a “saying birds of a feather flock together”, so surround yourself with people that you want to be like. Black Love United is the ministry of Cedric & Angie Thomas who have been married since 2002. Along with God there are some key role models for our marriage that we owe great thanks. Jerry & Phyllis Girley have been instrumental with helping our marriage succeed and letting us know that "Trouble don't last always " when there were times we wanted to throw in the towel. Jerry & Phyllis have been married since December 1980 and yet they still act like newlyweds. Angie's parents, Freddie & Carroll Filmore, have been married for 54 years which is another example that marriage can last. |
